Healing with Kaye Oakley
Body - Yoga and Pilates
Kaye has been exploring yoga for over 25 years, and has practiced a variety of styles. She first became committed to yoga when she used it as part of her recovery from a back injury, and discovered a path to a happier, healthier, calmer life. For nearly ten years, she has been teaching hatha, vinyasa and yin yoga.
To learn new ways to bring equanimity, stability and balance to her students, Kaye has also gained a Pilates Matwork Certification with Studio Pilates International and trained in matwork Pilates teaching with STOTT Pilates in Toronto, Canada.
She aims to bring compassion and a down-to-earth attitude to her teaching, and believes that yoga can lead to a greater experience of well-being for anybody, no matter what challenges they bring to the yoga mat.
“We don’t just do yoga postures so that we can tie ourselves up like a pretzel, balance in some crazy handstand, or join Cirque du Soleil. Yoga helps to heal the body, calms the mind, comforts the soul, and gives us a path to a richer understanding of ourselves and what’s going on around us. This path can show us how to move towards greater wholeness at all levels of our being, and to serve the world through embodying our best selves.”
