Seize the Joy Summer Solstice Meditation Ritual

In the Southern Hemisphere, the Summer Solstice will be on Saturday the 21st of December 2024 at 8:19 pm.

The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, the time when there is the most daylight in a single turn of the earth around the sun. It is considered the astronomical beginning of summer, or traditionally known as Midsummer.

It is the peak of the light – and also a turning point. From the day of the Summer Solstice, the days will grow shorter and shorter until the light returns again with the Winter Solstice.

Across time and cultures, the Summer Solstice has been a time to celebrate the abundance and vibrancy of summer. To enjoy the light while it’s here, to enjoy what’s good while it’s with us – because things will inevitably change.

In this meditation ritual, we’ll be connecting with what joy means to us and how we might open up to more of it.

This meditation ritual is designed to be done around dawn on the day of the Solstice - but if that's too early, feel free to do it at any time when you have about eight hours of sunlight.
